MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque

Now and again you keep hearing about these cult products out there. They come up regularly over the course of many years and the mention of their name sort of keeps pounding at you much like the waves breaking onto rocks eroding them until they finally crumble. I'd keep hearing about these little pots that had a magic concoction that would do wonders for your eyes, a revolutionary product that other brands still try to mimic. To be honest, some even got it right, but a MAC paint pot, is after all a MAC paint pot.

So began my extensive research into which shade I should get. Should I get the natural matte ones? Naa...How about the amazing dark colors...probably wouldn't get too much use out of those even though they are OMG pretty. Finally it was a close one between "Indianwood" and "Rubenesque". I went with the latter because it appeared to be the most unique shade.

MAC Paint Pot

Rubenesque

Price: About 120 dhs for 5 gms of product.

Packaging: Cute little glass pots with a plastic twist down lid. Feels heavy in the hand and looks very chic. Have to be careful and twist the lid tightly down.

Product: The shade as I mentioned, is very unique and gives a 3D effect. When you tilt it at different angles it gives of different looks. Basically it is peachy/ goldeny/ rosy color. It has a high shine finish with very finely milled shimmer. The shimmer is not noticeable but contributes to the high shine finish. It is very creamy, very blendable and can be used as a stand alone product very nicely on the lid.

For me it does not crease, but if that is an issue, using a primer underneath can help. Also it is waterproof and budge proof, once its on, its on.

This swatch stayed put for about 6 hours without even breaking a sweat.

I've heard it can dry out and storing it upside down prevents that from happening. I haven't seen any hint of it drying out even though I've had it for about a year and a half.

It makes for a great eyeshadow base. Definitely worth having at least one in your stash.

Marks: 9/10
