Sigma Smoke Screen Palette

After the much hyped about Warm Neutrals Palette, Sigma brings out another beauty, the much coveted and talked about Spring palette: The Smoke Screen Palette which is a more cool toned palette.

This was on my wish list, to be honest I did want the Warm Palette but in the end I went with the flow of the season and took a leap (not much of a leap because everyone was going crazy about it). I could go on and on so I'll just move on.

Price: Ranging between 130 and 150 dhs.

Packaging: Very nice I must say. The palette came in a cardboard covering from which the palette can slip out. The casing itself has "Sigma" embossed on it and inside as well The shadows themselves also have sigma on them. Housed inside are 12 gorgeous and unique shades. There's a good sized mirror on the opening flap. The palette snaps firmly shut with the magnetic closure and a plastic cover that comes with the palette further protects the shadows inside. You could toss it, but I like to keep it on.

Product: I must say as far as palettes go, this one has done an excellent job in color selection. Though it is a cool toned palette, they have thrown in a couple of warms and a couple of pops of color and a pastel for good measure. Each and every color is so pretty, there is hardly any fall out and the outstanding feature is that the mattes in here...oh did I not mention...there are some great mattes also....what was I saying, ah yes...the outstanding feature is that the mattes are actually more buttery and soft and pigmented than any other matte shadows I have used. Dare I say more easy and blendable than the Urban Decay Mattes? I do dare. There is no down side to this palette except that the names of the shadows are mentioned at the back of the palette.

A close up of the eyeshadows

First Row:

VEILED: So this is a very light shimmery peach toned color but to me its a neutral. Great shade for highlighting.

OPULENT: A gorgeous more intense peach shade with slight warmth to it. Great all over lid colour.

EMBER: This reminded me of MAC's Woodwinked. Its a cool toned bronze, again good as an eyelid shade.

THUNDERHEAD: A cool matte taupe color, good as a transition color or you could so a subtle smoky eye with it.

Second Row:

MISTY: A very light matte lavender color, you could even mistake it to be almost white, but used under a pink or purple primer the lavender in this can be intensified. Other than that it is brilliant itself for a bright eyelid.

HAZE: A deeper lavender with hints of pink. Again a lovely cool toned lid color or blending out color.

SVELTE: One of my favorites in this palette, a dusky green. Excellent on brown.black eyes and makes for a modern smoky eye.

RAVE: Here is a shade with some glitter, you can just make out the cool browny taupe color with a pop of gold glitter. Lovely.

Third Row:

NEBULA: Easily the most favorite color of the palette and most gorgeous aqua blue I have ever laid eyes on. Its so soft and has this amazing sheen. Feeling bold, use it on the eyelids, bit intimidated? Just place it either under your eyes or for the most gorgeous pop in you inner lids.

ATMOSPHERE: A satin finish burgundy. This is the one true warm shade in the palette, used for warming up the crease.

CINDERS: Your standard satin gray. Use it on the lid, in the crease or anywhere else.

ALMOST JET: A black shade with a hint fine silver shimmers. Great as a liner shade or outer V shade.

Again I want to remind the readers that all the swatches are without primer of any sort, not foundation or anything. Used with primer these would obviously be intensified.

Marks: 10/10
