Who has not heard of these ‘Iconic’ palettes. The hype is
well deserved. Its almost unbelievable what this brand has achieved with
regards to their eyshadows, rivaling the likes of MAC and other higher end
brands. Finally a product that delivers without breaking the bank. I guess you are feeling the vibes here.
Price: This is tricky since these palettes are not easily
available in the Middle East. Even if they are, it would be on select online
stores and heavily marked up. Yet they sell out. I got these from the country
of origin so I am lucky they cost me the original few dollars…
Packaging: Well it is a drugstore brand, so the plastic container
comes off as not very high quality, though I have not had any technical issues
with it. The quantity of each eyeshadow is what you would expect. There are 8
of them in each of these palettes and of course there is a carefully thought
out scheme in each. Infact , Maybelline have done one similar to the ‘Comfort
Zone’ palette. There are actually labels on each shadow telling us which shadow
to put where. Its not necessary of course but its very helpful for beginners.
Product: Phenomenal….right up there with the likes of MAC
and Urban Decay at fraction of the price. The colors are so saturated and, if
used with a base, last your average day and you actually get the color that is
in the pan. There is fallout, but so do other eyeshadows from higher end brands,
nothing some careful application, a brush stroke with powder or shadow shields can’t
solve. They are buttery and blend in nicely, infact I have found we can
actually be in danger of overblending them if not careful. They can be used to
achieve a multitude of looks. Here is
what they look like along with swatches without a base:
Comfort Zone
Swatches-just one light sweep of the finger...
Petal Pusher
Swatches...
and finally
Blue had me at Hello
How gorgeous is that teal...
Each palette has a mix of shimmer, glitter and satin finishes. Though they do not have a proper matte in there, these palettes can still pull of so many different looks. The darker colors can easily be used as liners too.
My personal fav is the Comfort Zone palette since it has more versatility and neutrals going on. Petal Pusher has more of pink/purple theme and lastly Blue Had me at Hello is just as the name implies..blue themed. So experiment and knock yourself out with the endless
possibilities. If you’re just starting
out then these are good and if you’re a total junkie like yours truly then
they’re a must have and if you’re a professional these can do you no wrong. I
also have a couple of the trios and all of the above is true for these also.
Good job Wet n Wild!!
Marks: A mark lost due to the packaging but at least 9/10.
