Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Well what can I say....I'm a sucker for UD eyeshadows. Ever since I heard rumors that a third installment of these shadows was being released I kept telling myself over and over that the colors would not be good for my skin tone, that it was not a must have and that I could just as easily do without. Yeah that worked out well enough, till now! Ah my resolve was broken and rightly so, because honestly as far as neutral palettes go, this is probably my favorite. I admit the first 2 offer more variety and diversity, but this one is unique and takes rose gold to a whole new level.

The Naked 3 Palette

Find out more about it...

Price: Hefty at about 260-290 dhs.

Packaging: Top notch, wavy metallic rose gold casing. Very sturdy, excellent for travel and has little extras of a dual ended brush (one pack it on side and one blend it out side) and samples of the 4 versions of their UD primer potions. A good sized mirror wraps the whole thing up a cute little bow.

Product: If you've used UD eyeshadows you'll know that they are soft, buttery and highly pigmented. These are just that. They have some beautiful new colors and there is a good mix of shimmers, glitters and mattes.

The first 4 colors: Strange, Dust, Burnout and Limit

Corresponding swatches (little washed out in natural light)

Strange: This is matte off white shade with a slight pink undertone. Great for brow highlight or inner corner.

Dust: This is a glittery slightly chunky peachy shade which is my least favorite in the palette. The only shade that I did not particularly like due to the chunky glitter.

Burnout: A soft gentle peachy pink satin shade. Lovely for a soft wash of color on the lids.

Limit: A purple mauve color perfect for the crease or transitioning to a darker color. It's so soft even though it is matte.

Next 4 mid tone shades: Buzz, Trick, Nooner and Liar

Corresponding swatches

Buzz: This is the most gorgeous pink color for your eyelids. Its such a lovely texture. The sheen is just perfect, even for a day look.

Trick: Same consistency like Buzz but more peach toned. Lovely for your lids as well.

Nooner: My most favorite matte shade, its a taupe with a hint of pink on their. Best to accentuate the crease area or to smudge under the eye.

Liar: Again a satin, this is a beautiful pink based brown. Love all these mid tone lid colors.

Deeper shades: Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart

Corresponding swatches

Factory:  This a smooth highly pigmented mushroom color. It's just lovely as a crease color or lid color if you are doing a subtle smoky eye.

Mugshot: A lighter version of factory, lovely as a lid shade or crease shade.

Darkside: A darker verison of factory, it is a pink toned purple brown color. Very unique and beautiful even as a liner.

Blackheart: This is a deep purple black color with hints of pink glitter. It's such a modern version of your straight out black colors. This was an excellent twist in the palette. Best for liner or doing the outer v, but I'm tempted to use this on my lids too. The pink glitter would make for a lovely punk/goth look without being too over the top.

This is a lovely palette and such a unique concept in terms of neutral eyeshadows. If you like pinks, golds and peaches then you should invest in this palette.
