theBalm Nude 'Tude Palette

theBalm Nude 'tude Palette with the cover
I guess when it comes to neutral eye shadows, I'll always be partial. They just look good on everyone, and if you have the right palette, you can pull of so many diversified looks to suit almost any occasion. Staying in tune with the Urban Decay Palettes, which are just amazing, theBalm brought its version of a neutral palette as well, and I gotta say...it does not disappoint.

The back

Price: It's reasonable for about 150 to 180 dhs. You get 12 eyeshadows that a just a little bit smaller than the UD ones.

Packaging: As with most theBalm products, this comes in a cover and a little dual ended brush. I don't find the brush useful. It has a magnetic closure. There is a good sized mirror and the cardboard that houses the eyeshadows is quite durable. You can see a picture of what appears to be a lady's bedroom.

There are 2 versions, the naughty (with nude girls whose parts are covered with the eyeshadows pans) and the nice (which is simple).

Product: The eyeshadows are at par with the UD shadows, that is, they are super pigmented, highly blendable and even without a base, extremely long lasting. There are a variety of finishes including three mattes, one super glittery shade and some satins and a couple of frosts. I must say throwing in that burgundy was super smart.

The first half of the palette has the lighter shades that are great for highlighter purposes and as a wash of color for the lid whereas the second half are more crease colors and eyeliner shades.

The first half of the palette:

Sassy is a satin white, and it is just beautiful. Stubborn is a delicate satin pink. Selfish is your typical taupe and one my favorites in the palette, lovely for a day-time smoky eye. Snobby is a yellow based gold, just lovely for olive and medium complexions for night time events. Then we have Stand-offish which is a frost peachy pink. Sultry is the ultimate blending or transition color for the crease area.

Swatched without a base, single swipe

The second half of the palette:

Sophisticated is a darker taupe with brown undertones, Sexy is a burgundy that can be used as liner or to add color to the crease or even as a lid color. Serious is a matte black, just great to have in any palette, whereas Seductive is a beautiful bronzy eyeshadow. Silly is a taupy grey color with flecks of gold but I found it to be a little sheer but buildable and finally Sleek which is a very dark brown, almost black but not quite- it can be sheered out beautifully. I kind of botched the swatch of the last one there.

Corresponding Swatches
This a lovely versatile palette for any girl to have in her collection. Definite thumbs up.

  1. Wow, the shades are absolutely beautiful! I love every single one! I have so many eye shadows it would be hard to justify a purchase of another palette, but this one definitely joined my wishlist! <3 Thanks for sharing. Eva xo
