I always enjoy reading posts on the personal preferences of different makeup junkies which prompted my co-author and I to do a collab on these most frequently asked questions. It was a lot of fun doing this post. So read on and enjoy:
2. What was your first higher end makeup item?
Rahima: The first real high end makeup product I ever tried was the Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation. Still love it, but sadly it has been discontinued.
Mahwish: It was Lancome Teint Idol Foundation and Blush. My awesome SIL, Rahima, introduced me to the world of higher end makeup and from that day there was no looking back.
3. Your most cherished beauty product?
Rahima: Foundations, lipsticks, highlighters all come and go but I just can't do without my Chanel Soleil Tan se Chanel (Bronze Universel).
Mahwish: It would be my MAC Half n Half lipstick. Not only it was my first MAC product but more so because my Mom got me when she came to visit me the first time after I got married. And not to forget my Lancome loves mentioned above.
4. Which product do you splurge on?
Rahima: It has been my experience that eye shadows really are worth splurging on, so are foundations.
Mahwish: Foundations.
5. What is your favorite makeup brand?
Rahima: This is a really tough one. For higher end I'd say Chanel hands down and for drugstore I'd have to say...ummmm...Rimmel. Okay I'm going to go ahead and give an honorary mention to MAC.
Mahwish: Drugstore would be Maybelline. Higher end would be MAC and Clinique only because in the other brands I havent tried as many products as compared to these 2.
6. What is your favorite lip look?
Rahima: Definitely nude lips.
Mahwish: Brown nudes but lately I am loving a dark lip.
7. Which brand do you think does the best packaging?
Rahima: Another tough one, but I'd have to say MAC. I love how its all very sleek and basic and simplistic.
Mahwish: TheBalm and Benefit. Their products are so colorful and eye-catching.
8. What is your opinion on multi-functional products?
Rahima: I like them, and I think they're great for people with less time on their hands or are on a budget, but I can take them or leave them.
Mahwish: Over hyped!
9.If you could leave the house with just one makeup product, what would it be?
Rahima: How does one even do that? One product? Better no product, but since its being asked I'd say lipstick.
Mahwish: Eye pencil and have done that tons of time.
10. What is the next item on your wish list?
Rahima: Oh man my wish list...there are so many on number one, but the LoracPro Palette would be it. Mahwish already has it, and I can never get my hands on it, its always sold out.
Mahwish: I have three, Urban Decay Naked3, Hourglass Lightening Powder and Blush and third one is a fragrance which I have been wanting for the last 8-9 months now and that is Chanel Chance. A visit to the Chanel counter is a must every time I visit the mall just to try out the perfume. Lets see when I cave in and which beauty product I bring home.
Give some of your opinions, we'll be looking forward to hearing them.
1. What cosmetic brand have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
Rahima: This is going to sound crazy but I still haven't tried Makeup Forever. I'd like to give their famous foundation and flash palette a go, not to mention their lipsticks.
Mahwish: Ohh there are many. Giorgio Armani particularly their foundations, Illamasqua and Hourglass are a few of them.
