My Very First MAC Eyeshadow Quad

In the world of makeup, owning your very own personalized MAC eyeshadow quad is like a rite of passage of stepping into the grown up world of makeup...it makes you feel like you're finally in the big leagues of the makeup world. So I got to thinking how exciting it was to know that I was taking the plunge. Amongst the countless shades and finishes of the MAC eyeshadows which would become my destiny, it was mind boggling. OMG the choices were endless and totally impossible to make. After much deliberation and much mental turmoil, I ended up with the following combo:

Top 2 shadows: Woodwinked and Sketch
Bottom 2 shadows: Sumptuous Olive and All that Glitters

The shadows without a base, they pop even more with one.

Now this is the old packaging, since I know the new packaging has little clips to help pull out the pans. On to the shadows themselves...now we all know that its a tough call. These shadows are not exactly cheap..especially here where they cost 80 dhs a pop. You know you have to really think it out....I took into account what shades would be used the most rather than some shade that I would buy because of how it looked in the pan but one which I would probably not use that much. The shades I ended up with provides me with my usual everyday looks, but I can play it up and create dramatic smoky looks also.

All that Glitters: The shadow that blew MAC up into makeup stardom...it is a beautiful color with a veluxe pearl finish and really looks different each time I use it..sometimes it looks more peach toned, sometimes more pink toned and it has the most beautiful shine. Makes for a great highlight shade too.

Woodwinked: Right up there with the first one in terms of stardom..another bestseller and rightfully so. Its also a veluxe pearl but its more browny bronzy..its difficult to describe and gives a multidimensional look and makes for a great stand alone shadow...you could just apply it on your lid and blend into the crease and it'll look like you're wearing more than one shade.

Sumptuous Olive: This shade, also veluxe pearl finish can give you an edgy look, smudge it under the eyes for come color or a lovely all over lid color. Its a beautiful muted olive green colour with golden undertones.

Sketch: Almost a matte but not quite all matte, maroonish purply shade. It gives a subtle sheen and is beautiful as liner or outer v shade. Also good for blending into the crease for some drama.

Yes this is a good all over combo.

What would your dream MAC quad look like? Let me know!
